Biotinylated BSA Summary
Description |
Biotin is a small molecule with a molecular weight of 244Da. It is also known as Vitamin H, and it is crucial for a number of biological processes. Biotin-binding to avidin and streptavidin is resistant to extremes of heat, pH and proteolysis, making the capture of biotinylated molecules possible in a wide variety of environments. Biotinylated Bovine Serum Albumin (BSA) is commonly used for measuring the binding capacity of avidin or streptavidin matrices, as a reagent for amplifying biotin-avidin detection systems, or as a positive control in biotin estimation assays. |
