Background

Adiponectin is involved in controlling the whole-body metabolism, particularly by increasing insulin sensitivity in muscle and liver, and by increasing fatty acid oxidation in muscle. CTRP7 belongs to a highly conserved family of adiponectin paralogs designated as C1q tumor necrosis factor-alpha-related proteins (CTRPs) 1-7. A member of this family, CTRP2 (mouse) has been reported to rapidly induce phosphorylation of AMP-activated protein kinase, acetyl-CoA carboxylase, and mitogen-activated protein kinase in C2C12 myotubes, which resulted in increased glycogen accumulation and fatty acid oxidation.

Limitations

This product is for research use only and is not approved for use in humans or in clinical diagnosis. Primary Antibodies are guaranteed for 1 year from date of receipt.
