Application Notes | Cytochrome c Oxidase / Complex IV consists of 7-13 different proteins and is isolated as a dimer of 250 kDa of which heme a is an integral part. It contains macromolecular complex IV associated with micelles of the detergent n-dodecyl beta-D-maltoside and the enzyme solubilized with n-dodecyl beta-D-maltoside has an apparent molecular mass of 300-350 kDa (gel filtration). Cytochrome C Oxidase from Bovine heart. Activity: > or =20 units/mg protein (Unit: 1 unit of cytochrome c oxidase oxidizes 1 umole of ferrocytochrome c per minute at 25C at pH 6) |
Theoretical MW | 250 kDa. Disclaimer note: The observed molecular weight of the protein may vary from the listed predicted molecular weight due to post translational modifications, post translation cleavages, relative charges, and other experimental factors. |
Storage | Store at -20C. Avoid freeze-thaw cycles. |
Buffer | 25 mM Tris-HCl buffer, pH 7.8, 5 mM EDTA, and 39 mM n-dodecyl beta-D-maltoside |
Preservative | No Preservative |
