beta Galactosidase Antibody - BSA Free Summary

Description
Beta-Galactosidase Antibody is an IgG fraction antibody purified from monospecific antiserum by a multi-step process which includes delipidation, salt fractionation and ion exchange chromatography followed by extensive dialysis against the buffer stated above. Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-Rabbit Serum as well as purified and partially purified Beta Galactosidase [E.coli]

Store vial at 4C prior to restoration. For extended storage aliquot contents and freeze at -20C or below. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature. This product is stable for several weeks at 4C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.

Application Notes
This product has been tested by ELISA and western blot and is suitable for dot blot, immunofluorescence microscopy, immunoprecipitation, conjugation and most immunological methods requiring high titer and specificity. The antibody recognizes both frozen tissue sections, paraffin embedded tissue and 4% paraformaldehyde fixed tissue for most immunohistochemical analysis. A 1:1,500 dilution has been reported to detect beta-galactosidase in adult rat spinal cord tissue after infection with helper-dependent adenovirus expressing lacZ. In this particular experiment, tissue was perfused with 4% paraformaldehyde and cryostat-cut (35 um) to produce free-floating sections.br/>

Background

Beta galactosidase is coded by a gene (lac z) in the lac operon of Escherichia coli. It is a metalloenzyme that splits lactose into glucose and galactose. It hydrolyzes terminal, non-reducing beta-D-galactose residues in beta-D-galactosides. Activation by cations seems to be substrate dependent. K+, Na+, NH4+, Rb+, Cs+ and Mn++ all activate enzyme activity based upon the substrate used.

Limitations

This product is for research use only and is not approved for use in humans or in clinical diagnosis. Primary Antibodies are guaranteed for 1 year from date of receipt.

FAQs for beta Galactosidase Antibody (NB600-305). (Showing 1 - 1 of 1 FAQs).

  1. I have a potential customer who is looking for an antibody to detect Beta Galactosidase in paraffin-embedded transgenic mouse samples. Would antibody NB600-305 work for their experiments? I looked at the reference http://www.pnas.org/content/101/14/4978.long but I could not find that they mentioned if the tissue samples used were frozen or fixed and embedded in paraffin. Can you help?
    • A couple of publications have mentioned about detail of IHC and you may use following links to have access to the same. For IHC-P, Li B, et al. For IHC-Fr, Li B, et al. TNFalpha accelerates monocyte to endothelial transdifferentiation in tumors by the induction of integrin alpha5 expression and adhesion to fibronectin.
