Coagulation Factor III/Tissue Factor Antibody (CLB/TF-1) Summary

• Specificity: NB100-64304 recognizes human CD142, a 45kD cell surface glycoprotein which is otherwise known as Tissue Factor (TF). CD142 expression can be induced on monocytes, macrophages and endothelial cells by various stimuli including interleukin 1, tumour necrosis factor and endotoxin. CD142 initiates the blood clotting cascade by binding coagulation factor VIIa, which activates factor IX or factor X by specific limited proteolysis. CD142 also plays an important role in inflammation, angiogenesis, and the pathophysiology of atherosclerosis and cancer.

Background

A series of complicated reactions take place in the body whenever a blood clot begins to form. The major initiator of these reactions is an enzyme system called the tissue factor/factor VIIa (TF/FVIIa) complex. Animal tests show that various inhibitors of the TF/FVIIa complex can minimize blood clot formation as well as inflammatory responses.

1. Have you tested any of your anti-tissue factor antibodies against pig? I need one for western blot.
   • Unfortunately, none of our Tissue Factor antibodies have yet been tested with pig samples, so we cannot guarantee that any of them will work in pig.
