Rabbit Anti-Ovalbumin is an IgG fraction antibody purified from monospecific antiserum by a multi-step process which includes delipidation, salt fractionation and ion exchange chromatography followed by extensive dialysis against the buffer stated above. Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-Rabbit Serum as well as purified and partially purified Ovalbumin [Hen Egg White]

Background
Anti Ovalbumin Antibody recognizes ovalbumin that is the main protein found in egg white. Ovalbumin makes up 60-65% of the total protein. Ovalbumin displays sequence and three-dimensional homology to the serpin superfamily, but unlike most serpins it is not a serine protease inhibitor. The function of ovalbumin is unknown, although it is presumed to be a storage protein.

FAQs for Ovalbumin Antibody (NB600-922). (Showing 1 - 4 of 4 FAQs).
We would like to know if this antibody can be used for IHC-frozen. (I see an antibody has IHC-P listed as an application, can it also be used in IHC-Fr?)
We have only validated this antibody for use in IHC-P however it is likely it will also work in IHC-Fr. You may be interested in testing this as we would make you eligble for our Innovators Reward Program. In exchange for a full review of our product with an image, we will issue you a credit for the original purchase price of the antibody.
Hi, We are going to develop an ELISA for detecting ovalbumin in vaccines and we plan to use two Ab from yours: NB600-922 as the coating Ab. We would like to know which of your polyclonal HRP anti ovalbumin would be the best to match with NB600-922, or even another proper pair of Ab for ovalbumin quantification. The target concentration is 5 micrograms/ml.
We would probably recommend NBP1-05137 as the antibody to use with this as a pair. The reason being we often find it best to run monoclonal and polyclonal antibodies together as the pair in a sandwich ELISA. That way the monoclonal can be used as the capture and the polyclonal as the detection. The reason I would not use the HRP conjugated polyclonal is I believe they are the same antibody just one is conjugated while the other is not. Therefore they would react to the same sites on the protein and compete for binding.
We have a customer who is interested in using NB600-922 with her mouse skin samples that have been infused with ovalbumin. Her samples are formalin-fixed/paraffin-embedded. Do you know what method of antigen retrieval is recommended for this product, or do you have any additional info regarding use in IHC-P?
We recommend our standard citrate buffer antigen retrieval method or an enzymatic method with alpha-Chymotrypsin. I do not see any special conditions noted by the lab for staining with this one and the fact this is Rabbit on their mouse samples infused with ovalbumin should work well since there won't be any background with the secondary use.
Has NB600-922 been tested for cross reactivity with BSA? I would also like additional information regarding the purification method and if the purity of the antibody has been determined.
Our second Western blot image was from testing using BSA as a blocking solution, so it looks like it doesn't react to BSA at all. This antibody was purified from monospecific antiserum by a multi-step process which includes delipidation, salt fractionation and ion exchange chromatography followed by extensive dialysis. Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-Rabbit Serum as well as purified and partially purified Ovalbumin [Hen Egg White]. Concentration was determined by UV absorbance at 280 nm.
